Day 4: Whale Watching and Relaxation in Myvatn (North)

Today we drove much less than yesterday. 3 short trips of ~40min each. We left Akureyri towards Goðafoss (Waterfall), then we went up to a harbor city in the very north called HÚSAVÍK for whale watching. Then we drove to a relaxing thermal bath in Mývatn and we overnighted in a cabin guesthouse between the lake Mytvan and a dorment volcano.

First we said goodbye to Akureyri
We learned about this song while we were in Akureyri. Beautiful, matches the place!

Wolffish again. Not as good as the previous 2 ones, but still tasty.
This is what we came here for… whale watching!
Here we go.

Then we went to have a local dinner. Best Fish&Chips!

Our guesthouse for the night
Finally we arrived at our cottage… these two on the picture did not like that much…
Lake Myvatn, our Guesthouse and behind the dorment volcano

In total we were around 2h in the car. A very relaxing day with lots of excitement when seeing the whales and puffins!
