Day 6: Exploring Iceland’s East Coast – Puffins and Fjords (East)
Normally this was supposed to be a day of 2.5h drive with several long stops along the East coast, but mom and son decided they wanted to see the puffins again… so we went first to the Northeast and then later we drove along the fjords of the East coast.
After an inprovised breakfastWe drove to Borgarfjörður to see the puffins again
This time without rain, but it was very cold.
Very cold…It was so cold we decided to stop at the Cafe Hafnarhus, right in front of the hill full of Puffins, to recharge. Our brunch!
Enjoying the puffins from a much warmer place.
After our brunch, we hit the road again to move from the Northeast to the Southeast.
Right after watching the Ouffins, you have to drive up the mountain to leave the Fjord. Look at the view of the black sand beach from the top of the mountain.

And then at last we stopped at the Stokksnes Peninsula. A small piece of land stretching into the ocean, a place of pristine black sand beaches, seals, a lighthouse, a huge radar from the coast guard, a Viking movie set and a very nice Cafe and Guesthouse called Viking.
