Today was a very exciting day in Reykjavik! Last full day of our roadtrip was dedicated to get to known the capital of this beautiful country!

We debated if we should take a cab or the scooters… scooters was the decision!

And our starting point was the main cathedral of Reykjavik.

This cathedral’s design is inspired by the Basalt rock formations found in many of the places we visited. Below some pictures for you to understand it better.

Then, according to the self walking guide, we walked down Frakkastígur street. A street full of colorful houses, bars and cafes.

At the end of the street, you arrive at the Bay Area of Reykjavik, where you find the sculpture of the Sun Voyager. it was created to celebrate Reykjavik’s anniversary in 1990. It looks like a Viking boat starting a new journey towards the unknown.

After that we walked to the pedestrian shopping street Laugavegur.

We stopped at a very good Cafe named Sandholt. We really recommend it!

And then we stopped by the statue of the founder of Reykjavik: the Norseman Ingólfur Arnarson

Right in front of it is the Harpa Concert Hall, a futuristic building right in front of the ocean.

A walk away is the old harbor of Reykjavik. There we go… many shops, restaurants and museums.

After walking for several hours, we were hungry and decided to walk to the Skál restaurant, the one we’ve been yesterday. The cod fish was delicious, we wanted to try it again!
On the way to the restaurant, we saw this square transmitting an event live in a church, several people watching the event live. Later we found out that today Iceland elected a new president. Halla Tómasdóttir is the new president.
And finally we arrived again at Hlemmur Mathöll to eat at the restaurant Skál their cod fish.

We returned to the hotel using the electric scooters again and we stopped at the Kronan supermarket to buy supplies of delicious Icelandic candies.

And now it’s time to start packaging… omg, time flew. It was such an extraordinary trip, so many happy moments, so many unforgettable places, so many incredible memories!!!
Iceland, we will come back!!!
