Day 2: Exploring Paris – My First Trip to the City of Lights

And this is my trip to Paris! First time there and very excited to get to know France. Heard a lot about France, for a certain time I even can say it was the country that fascinated me most! Now let’s learn about it live! Originally we were supposed to stay there from March 11th till March 16th 2023, but due to the missed flight in London, we arrived here on March, 12th.

Here we are in our short morning flight from London to Paris.

This was our hotel, Maison Pigalle. Good hotel with delicious breakfast, located in a typical old and renovated building in Paris. We walked to all the places from here.

And then we started walking… first stop, Eiffel Tower.

1h walking through the nice streets and Cafes of Paris
From the hotel we decided to walk to the Eiffel Tower and on the way, what do we see? Avenue Chámps-Élysées and at the end, the Arc-de-Triomphe.

Facts about this avenue: “The Champs-Élysées is a famous Paris avenue, stretching 1.9 km from Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. Renowned for luxury shops, theaters, and cafés, it’s a hub for major events like the Bastille Day parade and Tour de France, symbolizing Parisian grandeur and culture.” ChatGPT

Me and my mom!

And then, a few steps further, I crossed the street, look to the right and…

The Eiffel Tower and the Seine River.

Eiffel Tower, here we go!

Huge, beautiful!

BY the way, if you want to go up the tower, you should reserve tickets ahead of time. The lines are long and it is common that they are sold out for the day. Here the website where you can buy tickets ahead of time.

First level: these buildings across the river are called Jardins du Trocadéro

Facts about Jardins du Trocadéro: “The Jardins du Trocadéro in Paris, created for the 1937 World’s Fair, offers stunning views of the Eiffel Tower. Featuring the Fountain of Warsaw with 20 water cannons, it’s part of the Trocadéro complex, including the Palais de Chaillot, museums, and sculptures, commemorating the 1823 Battle of Trocadéro” ChatGPT.

This is how it looks from the top.

But now let’s talk about the Eiffel Tower.

Facts: “The Eiffel Tower, completed in 1889 for the World’s Fair, stands 330 meters tall and was designed by Gustave Eiffel. Initially criticized, it’s now a global symbol of Paris. Made of iron, it attracts millions of visitors annually, offering panoramic views from its three levels, including restaurants and exhibitions” ChatGPT.

And this is how it looks like when we look up!
And here we are at the very top of the Eiffel Tower! Amazing that something like that was build more than 100 years ago!
Champagne at the Eiffel Tower for the adults.
Read the description below.
Gustavo Eiffel had his office here at the top! 😳
It does not matter from where you look at it, the Eiffel Tower is always majestic.

We were hungry and googled for a good restaurant near the Eiffel Tower and we found this jewel. Really great! Although… it is Italian. 😅

With our tummies full, we started walking again to Jardins du Trocadéro to enjoy the Eiffel Tower from the other side of the River.

Enjoying the walk until Jardins du Trocadéro.
This is Paris! 😀

Well, the streets of Paris where not so beautiful this time. Several strikes hit France during these weeks. The garbage was not being collected anymore as a way to out pressure on Macron and the result was shows in the news around the world…

It was like walking in a maze while walking on the sidewalks. 😀

After walking so much, we were tired and returned to the hotel.
