Day 3: A Guided Tour of Hakone and Mt. Fuji

Today the plan is again to have a full day guided tour. Same starting point, at the Love sculpture. Today the destination is Mt. Fuji, Cable car in Hakone and a boat trip. At the end of the day, we will return to Tokyo in the bullet Shinkansen train!!! I hope the weather will help, because it is cloudy, cold and the weather forecast warns about rain…

Here we are again.

Here our itinerary.

Oshino, a typical village a few hours away from Tokyo and next to Mt. Fuji.
Pure water from Mt. Fuji
And this is the place where we will have lunch.
Here we are, getting ready in these Japanese style tables.
Lunch today is Hot Pot. Each one of us get a small stove and a pot with our boiling food inside. Super tasty!!

As usual, every food here in Japan comes always with Rice and Noodles. They eat rice here simply every time and every where in every occasion. For breakfast, lunch and dinner there is rice.

After lunch we continued our tour, now to Mt. Fuji… but the weather did not help. It was cloudy and rainy and we could not see Mt. Fuji. It rained and rained the whole day. 😦

Our boat arriving.
Despite of the rain, I tried to enjoy as much as I could. Here me enjoying a Matcha ice cream in the boat.
Torii Gate at the lake.
Our guide Tsubasa trying to teach us some important Japanese words related to food.
After a rainy day, a highlight: the Shinkansen. I always dreamt of travelling with it. 🙂
I could not stop smiling the whole journey from Odawara to Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. It travels at almost 200MPH (300Km/h).

After a wet and cold day, we decided to have a great dinner at the hotel. The restaurant is delicious, look at my choices for this night… it is not a joke, I ordered 2 dishes, mussels and lamb.

And now it is time to rest… see you tomorrow!!
