So, this is the beginning of our so much planned trip to France! The idea was to arrive in Paris on March, 11th 2023 and start exploring but our plane had a connection in London and the flight got delayed… and we were stranded in London.

So, what to do if you suddenly are stuck for a day in a place you did not plan to be? Cry? Complain? Nothing like that helps. You have to make it worth! A good quote from I do not know who summarizes it well “if life gives you a lemon, make a lemonade out of it!”.
We had to line up, together with hundreds of other passengers to get our situation clarified. It took 2h… but finally we were helped and we must say, despite of the waiting, British Airways was super nice. The attendant was super nice. They rebooked us for a morning flight on the next day (March, 12th 2023), gave us the voucher for hotel overnight, transport vouchers, food vouchers, etc. And we went to the hotel.

After dropping our stuff in the hotel room, we went to talk to the Concierge and ask if there was a day tour we could book. It was mid afternoon, so he discouraged us to try to look for a tour at that time on the same day. But he said we could try to talk to one of the British Black Cabs to see if they would not drive us around London for a fixed fee. And we did it, we went to the street, stop a cab. He asked for 200 pounds first, my daddy negotiated down to 160 pounds for 2-3 hours driving around London and we jumped in!

Heathrow Airport is a bit far from London, so it took so time for the Taxi to reach the city center.
As promised and negotiated, we were the whole time in the cab and the driver was driving around the city sightseeing spots. All the pictures below were taken from the cab.

Well, not bad for an unplanned visit, right?
At the end of the around 2h ride, the taxi driver brought us back to the hotel, and we got ready for our morning flight to Paris on the next day.
