Day 13: Bye bye Philadelphia, hello New York!!

After having a very nice breakfast in the hotel, we went for a short walk to see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall in Philadelphia. After that, we hit the road to New York!!

Great breakfast!
Look how delicious it looks like!
Philadelphia is a great mix of old and new buildings!
Nice!
Street art.
And here we are, the Independence Hall.

“Independence Hall in Philadelphia is where the Declaration of Independence (1776) and U.S. Constitution (1787) were debated and adopted. Originally built as Pennsylvania’s State House in 1732, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Liberty Bell once hung in its tower, symbolizing American freedom and independence across generations.” Source ChatGPT.

… and next to the Independence Hall, you can find the Liberty Bell.
A symbol of Liberty throughout the centuries in different occasions: e.g. Independence of USA, Civil Rights Movement, Women Equal Rights Movement, etc.
Here it is, the Liberty Bell. Here you can see its famous crack.
From the other side.

“The Liberty Bell, located in Philadelphia, is a powerful symbol of American independence and the enduring fight for liberty and equal rights. Cast in 1752, it originally hung in the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall). Though it cracked soon after arrival and was recast twice, the bell’s iconic fracture remains today. It rang during key moments, including the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the Liberty Bell became a rallying symbol for abolitionists, civil rights activists, and women’s suffrage advocates, representing justice, freedom, and equality for all Americans across generations.” source ChatGPT.

After this great visit, we got the road to New York. My gosh, to drive from Brooklyn to the LaGuardia airport took almost 1h… busy city.

5min for ChatGPT at the hotel.
The New York vibe… many many many buildings!
Time for a Chocolate with Pistachio. We are on the way to an Argentino Restaurant for lunch, but we decided to have dessert first.
This is New York, in the middle of many buildings, an oasis. This is where the restaurant is located.
Baires Grill, really good!
Yeah, space is a problem here. Look how the parking places look like nowadays.
Typical fire stairs.
More buildings, old and modern together.
At the end of the street, the Empire State Building!
And then we went up to the High Line.

“The High Line is an elevated park in New York City built on a former freight rail line. Stretching 1.45 miles along Manhattan’s West Side, it features gardens, art installations, and city views. Opened in 2009, it transformed old infrastructure into a vibrant public space blending nature, design, and culture.” source ChatGPT.

Nice!
Look, elevated gardens among buildings, like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon!
High Line, an urban marvel!
Beautiful.
Purple Cone Flowers.
Look at these buildings .
New York’s iconic building!
The Edge.
At the bottom of the Edge!
In the underground of the Edge we found an amazing place called Little Spain!
We decided to stop at one bakery and try some of the delicacies.
OMG!
Tapas, wine, cheese, Spanish music!
This is modern!
Now let’s go back to the hotel.

21:00h… time to go to the Madison Square Garden. Boxing Fight Taylor vs. Serrano 3!
And here we are again!
Let’s go inside!
Full of people and beautifully decorated!
Always with popcorn!
Final round of the main fight!
… and the winner is… 😀

The fight ended at 12:30am… it’s been an amazing day, full of new experiences, but now it is time to go to bed. See you tomorrow!!
